detour
A longer route that you take in order to avoid a problem or to visit a place.
就是“绕个远儿，兜一圈儿”。例如：
We had to make a detour around the flooded fields.
It’s well worth making a detour to see the village.
give somebody a taste of something
这个从字面意思就很好理解，就是“让某人感受一下某物”。举个例子：
Camping gave us a taste of living in a natural way.
The farm holidays are for townspeople who would like a taste of the countryside.
blow your mind
这个之前有说过，还记不记得?英文解释是：to produce a very strong pleasant or shocking feeling. 它的形容词形式更加常用，就是mind-blowing, very exciting, impressive or surprising. 比如：
Watching your baby being born is a mind-blowing experience.
还有咱们上回说的，非洲让人叹为观止的美：the mind-blowing beauty of Africa.
